    @GatewayRE
Clearly you’re not an objective party. I’m in the biz and you and I both know that shmucks do exist in our industry. I’m going to post a negative response to anyone I think fits that category.

    After I finished …
After I finished laughing at this video and the poor soul who posted it I started thinking that he’s the guy down the street with the FSBO sign in the yard for the last 2 years…wondering why his home isn’t selling…probably smells like dog and he thinks it’s just beautiful. Just shop for a Broker who’s sold several hundred homes successfully and do what they tell you…you’ll net MORE not less.

  3. GatewayRE says:

    If agents thought …
If agents thought or behaved the way this video warns they do, they would never survive in this business.

    Did the producer of …
Did the producer of this video get their information from criminals that used to sell stolen goods on the streets of major cities? Yes, there are a tiny percentage of people who will try these “tricks” on clients but Realtors are professionals who want RETURN BUSINESS and they know they won’t get it if they rip off their clients! My family’s been in the RE business since the late 1950′s and we’re still going strong working with both original clients and new ones because we’re ethical like most

  5. TheRealEstatePeacock says:

    Real Estate Agents …
Real Estate Agents are not employed, they are self-employed independent or affiliated contractors. Employees get taxes paid through the employer, an agent pays his own taxes and runs his own business. This seems to be a common misconception. An employer can tell an employee how to execute a certain job, an agent is hired for a fee to do a job but has the freedom to complete the task as it suits him.

  6. TheRealEstatePeacock says:

    My advice, move on …
My advice, move on to the next broker . Agent acting as the video portrays will lead to a short lived career. Could it be possible that this scorned client was working with the seller’s agent? Remember, seller’s agents have an obligation to the seller. They held by laws to disclose defects, but are not required to advise you favorably. Always get your own experienced representation that puts your interest first. This is a hideously exaggerated video.

  7. tamparealestategals says:

    Wow if there was …
Wow if there was any agent who acted like that by not presenting all offers, they would be fired from my brokerage. Yes I know there are some bad apples out there but the majority of agents are here to help the seller get the most for their money.

  8. 08nella says:

    what a load of …
what a load of misinformation this video has! yeah, go ahead and hold out for what YOU think your home is worth and do worry about those disclosures that the law says you as a FSBO still has to offer. May as well save that comission money to hand over to an attorney when they need to defend you in court. OH WAIT! THERE ARE PLENTY of books and websites to show you how to do that too.

I didn’t watch your video, because I refuse to watch ads on youtube.

  10. EGOTRIPNG says:

    Selling a house …
Selling a house without broker is possible, you can also go to court without a lawyer.

  11. sydmy1 says:

    Everyone staunchly …
Everyone staunchly against this video seems to be so because they themselves are employed in the real estate business – can you say “conflict of interest” anyone? Real Estate agents DEFINITELY use these tactics and anyone would be naive to think otherwise – they get paid faster that’s the bottom line, money talks no matter what profession you are in – it’s called business, this is how they make a living.

    It appears the …
It appears the person who posted this video had a bad experience with a single individual and wants to condemn an entire industry to get even. This video is a disservice to home sellers who have to sell in today’s difficult environment. Overpricing in today’s market usually means selling for even less in the future. It is also unfair to all the honest, ethical, and hard working REALTORS. Need to buy or sell, talk to 2 or 3 Professionals, then decide.

    1. To people that …
    1. To people that say we agents have big commissions, I say, what are you waiting for, go do your course, so I can look at the look on your face 8 months later.

    2. Lowering a commission? Collaborating agents will visit your home last. Smart move.

    3. Sell your home on your own? Do-able. Save money (commission)? Never gonna happen! The buyer will tell you: But I don’t have an agent, slap off an x-tra 4% for me, will ya?

  14. dapinelli says:

    98% of Realtors …
98% of Realtors should never have left their retail or fast food jobs. There are too many Realtors (over 1.3 million), a backwards commission plan which screws both the consumer and oddly enough -the agent, and way too many poorly trained agents dealing from the bottom of the deck to sell a home under any circumstances which favor only them.

  15. Syntropoli says:

    I’ve been involved …
I’ve been involved in the real estate business for 10 years and this video is 100% accurate.

  16. cjhodgesrealtor says:

    Realtors work in …
Realtors work in accordance with a code of ethics which prohibits us from taking part in most of these activities that this film maker says we will do to cheat a client. Realtors who are successful are typically honest to a fault. We can not mislead clients and expect them to send us referrals. This “film maker” needs to do better research.

  17. LynSims says:

    This video is no …
This video is no longer even relevant in this market. Lower the commission at a time when monthly only 8% of homes in an area are selling at a given time? That makes sense!
You should do some investigative work for your own market but since every subdivision in an area has not been effected the same way, their blanket statement doesn’t tell you that. This person seems totally disgruntled w/the real estate market & realtors in general wouldn’t you agree?

  18. bandersohn says:

    This video just …
This video just goes to show you that “anyone” can create and upload a video to youtube. If you’re a buyer or a seller, don’t always believe what you see or read on the internet.

It’s this kind of crap that can actually cost you MORE MONEY than having a good Real Estate Agent or Broker represent you.

In their Next Video, they’ll be showing you and telling you to fix your own car, or do your own surgery! What a bunch of bull!

    Next….

You have some good points but not all brokers are alike.

  20. jllrealestate says:

The 2 sides to this …
The 2 sides to this argument are like fire and ice. Buyers in this market, especially here in AZ, WILL NOT BELIEVE their home is valued so low when they have put so much into it. They don’t realize that with so many distressed properties in their neighborhood, the appraiser doesn’t have much choice and must use those dirt cheap houses as their comps in the appraisal. In 10 years I have NEVER met a realtor like the one pitched here. You are thinking car salesperson, so that is the mortgage biz!

  21. LOVECALFORNIA says:

good advice this bull crap most of us believe in ethics

  22. csalt22 says:

    This is bull****, …
This is bull****, most of the things mentioned are illegal for a realtor to do.
    1. All offers must be presented promptly
    2. Most owners believe “their home” is magically worth more than comparable homes- it is the agent’s job to bring them back to reality.
    3. Over priced homes don’t sell or don’t sell for that price. They languish on the market, become stale, and then sell for less than they would have brought 6 months earlier.
    4. 80% of buyers start their search on the internet,

  23. 386Motoring says:

Good video…. it makes brokers seam like cons though. I haven’t met any brokers that would do unprofessional things like that and a brokers license can easily be taken from FREC.

  24. tollymick777 says:

    why would brokers/ …
why would brokers/agents risk their license over lousy scheme just to make a sale…!? they’re their to HELP you, might as well work with them instead of treating them like cons..
